Christmas at the Packard House

The Christmas holiday is a special time at the Benjamin F. Packard House. Amy and Mark have the house fully decorated by the first weekend in December just in time for guests arriving for an early holiday getaway. Each of the common rooms downstairs has a least one tree and all the rooms have a theme.

The parlor is a Winter Wonderland

Enter the front parlor and immerse yourself in a Winter Wonderland. A large tree decorated in silver, blue and white is the focal point. The mantel covered in snowy greens, candles and antique blue bottles compliment the winter theme. Explore the rest of the room’s details of snowmen, small silver trees and lighted stars.

The Dining Room adorned in Gold and Green

Move across the voyeur to the dining room where the red painted walls are complimented by the green and gold decorations. A tall pencil tree is adorned with sparkly bulbs and ornaments and topped with a gold bow. Around the large table the chairs are also adorned with gold bows and the mantel and fireplace continue with the color theme bling.

The library is where all the snowmen gather this time of year. Three trees decorated with snowmen, snowballs and snowflakes highlight the room.

Relax by the Santa Tree in the Gathering Room

The Gathering Room is all dedicated to Santa!

A large tree highlights Mark’s extensive Santa collection and more Santas adorn the large mantel above the fireplace. The room has a natural, rustic feel with burlap and pine cone garland and small trees throughout. New this year in the glass top coffee table Mark made over the summer is the Christmas Village. It is a giant shadow box for the holiday!

And the kitchen is not forgotten in the decorating – with three small trees on the window seat all decked out with Amy’s growing bird collection. A bit of the garden coming inside for the winter months.

Outside is also ready for the holidays with homemade winter berry wreaths on the front doors, greens, more winter berry and lanterns lighting the front urns, white lights, red stars and more greens throughout the gardens.

We welcome you to stop by and see our decorations and say hello this holiday season or book a getaway and escape the stress that of the holidays. We would love to share some holiday cheer with you.

From all of us here at the Packard House – the Happiest of Holidays to you and yours and Best Wishes for a Peace Filled 2018!
