Quarantine Update

Apr 20, 2020 | Uncategorized

I thought I would take some time during this quarantine to update everyone on what is happening here at the B&B – how we are spending our days while we wait for the time when guests can return. Of course, for Picco and myself, life remains much the same but for Amy and Mark things are a bit different. So to fill their time they have embarked on a number of projects around the B&B and in the gardens. All their work now is definitely going to pay off for our future guests!

Quarantine UpdateFirst off there have been a lot of small painting projects – all the windows in all the guests’ rooms have received a fresh coat of paint, the sink cabinets in the Packard Room have been painted Quarantine Updateand updated and Amy transformed the window seat in the kitchen with fresh paint and pillows for a comfy spot to view the garden especially if it is a rainy day. Now that it is a bit warmer, Mark has embarked on a larger project outside of painting all the upstairs window trim, reglazing the windows, re-enforcing the old shutters and painting them. Old houses are wonderful but constant upkeep and work! But since they have the time……

The gardens and patio area are coming to life! This is one of our guests’ favorite spots and also the innkeepers so it is always fun to open the patio after the long winter. Things are slowly greening up and Amy has added color and interest with small vignettes throughout. Mark recently repurposed an end table to make a checker/chess board for guests to enjoy while sitting outside. Both the fountains are running and providing a soothing backdrop.

Amy and Mark are going to continue to prepare for guests’ return and I will keep you updated on progress and information for our re-opening. In the meantime, please remember we are here to take your reservations and your gift certificate needs. We are waiving all cancellations fees through the end of August so there are no penalties if plans change, even at the last minute.

We all hope you are safe and healthy and look forward to seeing you down the road!
