A short 10 minute drive brings you to either Popham Beach or Reid State Parks and a day at the ocean as only Maine can offer you. Take a plunge in the cool Atlantic waters or hike the parks’ many trails. Conclude your day in the sun eating fresh seafood at one of the many lobster shacks in mid-coast Maine. We highly recommend Five Islands Lobster Co. in Georgetown. Driving a little further north explore the villages along Route 1. Go antiquing in Wiscasset, catch a whale watch out of Boothbay Harbor or head south and shop ’til you drop at the Freeport outlets. Or maybe a tour of the Maine coast from the water is more suited to you – contact Captain Ed Rice and plan a boat tour with River Run Tours. Return at the end of the day to the tranquility of Bath for a quiet stroll along the Kennebec River, dinner (Salt Pine Social was voted Best New Maine Restaurant in 2017 by Downeast Magazine readers) and a nightcap in town.
