Getting Inspired
Amy and Mark just returned from vacation and are gearing up for the busy season here in Maine. The end of March is usually the time they get away and come back ready to tackle last minute projects and start to get the patio and gardens ready for the season. We hope the weather cooperates with their plans and timeline.
They also come back inspired to make some tweaks based on their travels to what you will experience when you stay with us. This year’s trip to New Orleans is no different and one of the
biggest areas of inspiration was the cuisine. They told Picco and me that we missed out – the food was unbelievably good. Amy is planning on using some of these southern and Creole influences in her breakfast menus this coming season. They have also added some color and French luxury to the dining room with new tablecloths purchased at a great little shop in the French Quarter called Gem de France, cute new coasters now adorn the guest rooms and are made of cork in the shape of slices of toast found at a shop in NOLA called Quoerk, and some new ideas are in the works for garden containers and plantings inspired by all the beautiful hidden gardens they found when they explored New Orleans.
The warmth and sunshine they left behind in the South cannot get here fast enough for all of us! And we are all looking forward to seeing you soon.
